Description
Béla Bartók, often in collaboration with Karl Hauser, completed a six-volume critical edition of Franz Joseph Haydn's (1732-1809) keyboard sonatas between 1918 and 1926 as part of a Klavierwerke von Joseph Haydn series. The editions imparts Bartók's meticulous approach to fingering, ornamentation, and phrasing, using multiple manuscripts and early prints in addition to his own playing experience, blending historical accuracy with practical performance practices. This Voume II Masters Music publication includes the following seven SONATAS: 8. Sonate in C-sharp minor, Hob.XVI:36 (Op. 30, No. 2) [Klaviersonate No. 49]; 9.
